Deadline today!
Mar. 29th, 2015 11:52 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
The deadline is today. Unless we've agreed on an extension, you should send in your fic/art by the end of the day. If you need a few more days to finish your work, please let me know. Please try to finish as soon as possible, though, because this round is rather small and I'd rather not have to give anyone a two week extension. If, for whatever reason, you won't be able to finish your fic/art at all, tell me as well so I can find a pinch-hitter.
Posting starts tomorrow with one fic/art per day. Usually I switch to two posts per day once everyone has sent in their work. Please do not post your fic or art elsewhere before it has been posted here.
And the usual request to all members of the community, not just the participants: please comment. Nobody expects you to read fics you're not interested in, but if you read and enjoy something anyway, it doesn't take that much time and effort to write a short comment to tell the author or artist you liked their work. And it should go without saying that you are expected to leave a proper comment on the fic/art made just for you; not thanking the person who spent so much time writing/drawing something for you is incredibly rude.
I hope everyone enjoyed working on their fic/art and that you will all like your gift.

Check-in post
Mar. 14th, 2015 05:18 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
The deadline is in a bit over two weeks, on Sunday, March 29th. Please reply to this post to let me know whether you will be able to finish your fic/art on time or not. If you have to drop out, please tell me now so I can find a pinch-hitter. Don't wait until the deadline to drop out, and don't just disappear without a word. If you think you will need a small extension, please tell me as soon as possible, but I would ask you to try and meet the deadline rather than send in your fic two weeks late. If you don't reply to this post in the next few days, you'll get an e-mail from me. Obviously you don't have to check in with me if you've already sent in your fic.
A few things to remember when you send your fic/art to me:
1) Include a header in the following format:
Title:
Author/Artist:
For:
Pairings/Characters:
Rating:
Words:
Warnings: (don't forget to warn for spoilers)
Prompt:
(Summary, if the prompt was rather vague)
2) Fics should ideally be sent in as text files (.txt). doc, docx and odt are also fine.
3) Fic writers: please include html coding for italics etc. Make sure your formatting works and that there is a BLANK LINE between every two paragraphs, i.e. that you hit enter twice after every paragraph, not just once. You have to do this manually. It is not enough to tell Word to leave a bigger space between paragraphs because that will not show up when your fic is copied & pasted on LJ. I know that should be obvious, but there's always someone who forgets about it and it makes fics pretty hard on the eyes.
4) Your fic should be beta read or at least spell-checked very thoroughly. If you don't know anyone who can beta for you, please contact someone from this list.
Thank you. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

Assignments sent
Feb. 9th, 2015 01:09 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
I just sent out the assignments. Please make sure you have received an email from gotexchange[at]hotmail[dot]com. If you haven't, tell me right away. I hope everyone is okay with their assignment. Most of you will probably not like all of the prompts you've been assigned, but I did my best to give everyone at least two or three prompts with characters/pairings they like. Since there have been misunderstandings about this before: you only have to fill one prompt, not several.
If you have any questions about your prompts, please contact me, not your giftee. If you have to drop out for whatever reason, tell me as soon as possible so I can look for a pinch-hitter. Don't just disappear without a word.
There are 28 participants this time, which makes this the smallest round of the exchange so far. That also means that I would ask you to do your best to meet the deadline because the posting period will obviously be shorter this time, so I can't give anyone overly long extensions.
Thanks to everyone for participating and have fun with your prompts.
